2 lanes on Palani rd in North Kona will close for 24 hours

The mauka and makai lanes on Palani rd will close between Queen Ka’ahumanu highway and the Henry street intersection (except for emergency vehicles) beginning 6:00 P.M. Friday, February 24 to 6:00 P.M. Saturday, February 25.  This is to provide for continued construction of the Ane Keohokalole highway linking Palani rd and Kealakehe Parkway to Hina Lani street.  The intersection at Henry street & Palani rd  will remain open during road construction.

 The mauka-bound lane will remain closed from Queen Ka‘ahumanu highway to Henry street until March 23.  No right turns allowed on to Palani rd from the Queen Ka‘ahumanu intersection until further notice

Traffic signals upgraded at at the Hawai‘i Belt rd and Kea‘au Pāhoa rd intersection 

Special off-duty police officers will be directing traffic at the Hawai‘i Belt rd and Kea‘au Pāhoa rd intersection in Kea‘au Saturday, February 11 between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.  Traffic signal control cabinets will be upgraded and signals will be turned off during this time. Motorists are asked to use Old Volcano Rd and avoid the intersection.
